ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. My mother is Zimbabwean and my father is Mauritian. There were many beautiful and challenging aspects of having grown up in a country like Zimbabwe; all of which have come to shape me into who I am today. Zimbabwe is known for political and economical instability, and while I was fortunate to not face poverty, many others faced this daily and it was, and still is visibly evident when you see families living on the streets. Growing up having electricity cuts for days on end or water cuts were normal, and shortages of food and fuel were part of our life. Any Zimbabwean who grew up during those times has developed a certain mentality. We watched out parents always find a way for us and we do our best to carry that mindset and strength with us. Regardless of the not-so-great parts of Zimbabwe, I am always proud of where I come from, and am grateful for my parents and every experience that has brought me to where I am and will continue to guide me onwards…
